Past President Sherrie Sanchez is to attend the Barberton High School Awards Banquet to present our 2008 scholarship grants, in the amount of $750 each to Brittany Fox and Kyle Keller. |

Representatives of the club will meet with officials of Boy Scout Camp Manatoc to determine what work is needed for our June 7th workday. |

Volunteers from Magic City Kiwanis and the Barberton Kiwanis will be working at concession stands at Indians games to raise money to pay off our pledge for the naming rights of the child care room at the New Lake Anna YMCA. |

Those interested in registering for the 3rd annual “Tour de Barberton” Pub Crawl sponsored by the Moose can do so between Noon and 6 PM. Monies raised will be donated to the Magic City Kiwanis Relay for Life walking team. For more information call Dave Incorvati, 330-753-7407. |

Camp Manatoc Work Day. The Magic City Kiwanis is the lead club in organizing this meeting of Northeast Ohio Kiwanis Clubs to rehab Camp Manatoc for the summer use of the Boy Scouts. |

“Paint the Town Historic.” Members of Magic City Kiwanis will assist our member, Grow Barberton Inc. Executive Director Diane Breiding, to paint buildings in the downtown business district. |

“Cruisin’ into Barberton.” Members will volunteer at this first of four classic car shows to assist the Grow Barberton Inc. to get folks to spend an evening looking at cars, eating and shopping. Rain date is the next Thursday. |

Relay For Life Cancer Walk: Noon, Saturday, July 19th, thru noon, Sunday, July 20th, around Lake Anna. Relay For Life is the signature event of the American Cancer Society. Each relay puts the spotlight on cancer survivors of all ages, races and ethnic backgrounds. Teams of 10 to 15 raise funds so the ACS can fund research, education, advocacy, and services. Members and their friends will paint a Barberton house for a deserving homeowner as part of the Neighborhood Conservation Services of Barberton “Paint Your Heart Out.” Call Gary Matney at 330-753-8885. |

There are many ways to support Magic City Kiwanis. The first and most obvious one is to join. Membership is open to men and women interested in helping children and bettering their community. We are holding a prospective members’ inquiry session at Hopocan Gardens, 6:00 PM on May 22nd. For more information call Dick Smith at 330-645-9317.

Come to our events. We hold an art auction the first Friday of November at the Moose. At the art auction, we have various raffles in addition to beautiful selections in all price ranges presented by the A. J. Ross Gallery of New York. Call Diane Breiding, 330-745-2255 for more information.
In May we host a pancake breakfast during the Cherry Blossom Fest. Our pancakes with fruit toppings are second-to-none. This event is held at the Saint Augustine Social Center on Saturday of the festival.

Buy something we are selling. In August, we start our annual Entertainment Book sale as well as Kiwanis roses.
